Why I Speak.....
As a speaker, I bring over two decades of experience and expertise that allow me to connect with my audience in ways that most keynote speakers can not. I’ve spent my life in competitive and high-stakes environments, first as a professional athlete, then as a Pentagon IT strategist, and later as a Hall of Fame coach, working with people internationally.
Across all of those experiences, one truth kept showing up: the key to high performance is 100% mental. Not in a motivational way, but in a practical, trainable way that people can understand. When people understand how their mind responds to pressure, how decision fatigue builds, and how anxiety quietly drains energy, everything changes. My goal on stage is a simple one: to give my audiences tools they can actually use immediately. Whether I’m speaking to executives, teams, or students, I want them to walk away clearer, steadier, and more confident in their ability to perform when it counts. Pressure isn’t going anywhere, but how we prepare for it controls how we perceive it.
"I'm not a motivational speaker. I'm a performance trainer who uses his lived and professional experience to change the world."
The Story Behind the Work
I get what it's like when the pressure is on and never stops. When you're carrying more than anyone sees. When you have to look like you have it together, but inside you're barely holding on. I have been there. I have been at the top and at the absolute bottom.
I spent 10 years at the Pentagon working with military leadership on high-stakes operations. I coached Bowie State University to its first championship against Olympic-trained competition. Shortly after, I was recruited as a professional track athlete training for the 2008 Olympics. I was on top of the world.
But then, disaster struck. I had a career-ending injury while training that put me in deep depression. A few years later, after recovering, I ended up homeless in LA, sleeping in my car. Along with all of this, I lost my unborn son.
So I spent the next few years mentally recovering until one day I made a decision. I applied all the strategies and mental adaptation techniques I learned from the Pentagon, combined with my experience as an elite athlete, to rebuild myself and rebrand into what you see today. No safety net, just me and God.
Today, I speak to audiences because I know there are millions of people with incredible potential who are stuck and struggling with pressure. Not because they lack talent, but because pressure, anxiety, and stress are holding them back. I give them the same tools that pulled me out of rock bottom so they can walk out empowered, equipped, and ready to perform under pressure without breaking.

Every leader feels it....the racing heart before a board presentation, the tight chest during a high-stakes negotiation, the mental fog when everything is on the line. Most people try to eliminate anxiety, however elite performers embrace it and then find ways to use it to their advantage.
In this strategic keynote, Shaun Spencer, shows the counterintuitive strategies he's used across elite athletics, military operations, and corporate environments to completely change the narrative and turn anxiety from a liability into a competitive edge.
This speech is a performance training rooted in 20+ years of operating under extreme pressure, from training for the Olympics to advising military leadership at the Pentagon to coaching an underdog team to their first championship.
ANXIETY AS A WEAPON
How Elite Performers Turn Nervous Energy Into Competitive Advantage

The higher you climb, the heavier the decisions get. Revenue targets, restructuring calls, M&A negotiations, board expectations, and they all need answers yesterday. Most leaders don't struggle because they are not capable, it's because decision fatigue is a silent killer and eventually erodes their ability to think clearly when it matters most.
In this high-impact keynote, Shaun Spencer breaks down the decision-making strategies he used in military operations and elite athletics, where hesitation costs lives, championships, and even millions.
His strategic systems are built on 10 years of working with military leadership up to three-star generals and decades of making split-second calls under extreme competitive pressure.

Let's be honest. We all know that sometimes, plans fall apart, markets shift overnight, key players leave, and competitors move faster than expected. The leaders who win aren't the ones with the best plan, but the ones who adapt the fastest when things don't go as planned, and it's either learn to swim or drown.
In this dynamic keynote, Shaun Spencer shares the same mental agility and mental adaptation techniques he's used across elite athletics, recovering from homelessness, and military environments to pivot under pressure without losing momentum or burning out.
From adjusting race strategy mid-competition to adapting to military protocols & changes to coaching a team to victory with last-minute information. Shaun delivers the strategies and techniques needed for thriving in chaos, not just surviving it.

Being resilient isn't always something that an individual is born with. In most cases, it's built over time. These days, most leaders are running on fumes, relying on willpower instead of a strategic system that they can depend on. They push through quarter after quarter, crisis after crisis, until something breaks either their performance, their health, or their team. Or all the above. Which does happen more than we know.
In this powerful keynote, Shaun Spencer reveals the mental resilience system he developed after rebuilding his own life from rock bottom and being homeless in the streets of Los Angeles.
This keynote isn't about "getting tougher" or the will to "keep moving". It's about building a mental operating system that gets stronger under pressure instead of weaker. One that compounds over time, so every challenge makes you sharper, not more depleted.

Everyone talks about performing at a high levels but nobody talks about what happens between the performances. The elite athletes train hard but also recover a lot smarter than everyone else. Meanly, they understand mental and physical recovery. And this is exactly where most executives are failing. They're running at full speed with no pit stops, very little rest, and wondering why their decision-making, creativity, and leadership are deteriorating.
In this essential keynote, Shaun Spencer breaks down his recovery system used by elite athletes and professionals at the highest levels. He shows how elite performers use strategic recovery to sustain high performance across entire cycles and how executives can apply the same system to sustain their edge across entire careers.
THE RECOVERY CODE

AUDIENCES WILL WALK AWAY WITH:
✅ The Recovery Code framework for sustaining elite performance without burnout
✅ Strategic recovery protocols used by pro athletes adapted for executive life
✅ Tools to identify the warning signs of cognitive burnout before it costs you
✅ Strategies to build recovery windows into a demanding schedule without losing productivity
✅ A personal recovery game plan they can implement this week not next quarter
Most leaders try to win by outspending, out-hiring, or out-muscling the competition. But what happens when you don't have the biggest budget, the top talent, or the obvious advantage? You have to try to find the angles nobody else sees.
In this compelling keynote, Shaun Spencer shares the exact methodology he used to lead a small underpowered University team to their first championship in program history against teams stacked with Olympic-level athletes. Instead of trying to muscle through and exhaust his team leaders and most talented individuals, he strategically positioned each member of his team where they could dominate. Thereby giving the team superstars time to rest and sustain high performance.
In the end, even the least talented of them played a very strategic role that was just as valuable as the team captains. This is the story of how accumulating 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place finishers beat a roster full of 1st place winners and how the same strategy applies to building teams, allocating resources, and finding competitive advantage in business.
DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH

✅ Tools to find competitive advantages your competition is completely overlooking
✅ A talent positioning game plan they can apply to their team immediately
My Mission
My mission as a speaker is to help individuals and organizations build the mental conditioning necessary to perform under pressure without burning out or suffering from anxiety. I focus on practical strategies andsystems that reduce decision fatigue, strengthen clarity, and improve execution in real-world environments. If someone leaves the room thinking differently about how they are managing pressure and feeling equipped to handle it, then I’ve done my job.
My Vision
My vision is to shift the way we think about performance. Too often, the conversation revolves around working harder or pushing longer. I believe sustainable excellence comes from training the mind just as deliberately as we train our skill or talent. I want leaders, teams, and students to see pressure as something they can prepare for and manage effectively, not as something that controls them and they are helpless when it arrives. When people learn how to handle pressure the right way, they not only perform better and at higher levels, but they also lead better, decide better, and live a better life.
From pro athlete to homeless to a international coach and advisor for CEO's..... this keynote will stick with your audience over a lifetime.
